Between December 2025 and February 2026, the marketing agency I founded 20 years ago lost 80% of its clients. We rebuilt. And what we learned through that experience is that the businesses who survive disruption aren't the most technically sophisticated, they're the most courageous.

PROACTIVE Co exists to give business leaders the courage to act, the capability to build, and the confidence to lead their teams through what's coming. Not through more content to consume. Through real work, with someone who's already made the mistakes so you don't have to.

I've spent 30 years in marketing, multimedia and digital strategy, since starting a Bachelor of Multimedia at Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 1996, one of the first cohort of graduates from that course in Australia. I contracted through study and after in graphic design and web development, then founded my own marketing agency, MeMedia, in 2006, and ran it for nearly 20 years across Sydney and the Gold Coast.

Along the way I wrote Building Brands on Purpose (Rethink Press, 2021), created the PROACTIVE marketing methodology, and started hosting The PROACTIVE Podcast. Thirty years designing UIs and software, and understanding the problems clients actually want solved, is what underpins the AI work now.

Between December 2025 and February 2026, MeMedia lost 80% of its clients to the same disruption everyone's watching unfold. We rebuilt from the ground up as PROACTIVE Co, an AI integration consultancy, keeping the marketing methodology as the foundation and adding the courage and capability to build with AI on top of it. These days I run hands-on workshops and help founders and their teams integrate AI into the way they actually work, from construction companies to marketing agencies.
